We get a LOT of questions about what you will eat on the trail, when you go backpacking with us.

One thing we have learned over many years on the trail, is that full tummies make a happy team! That’s a little tougher than it sounds like, because you will burn a lot of extra calories when you are on the trail all day long.

While we bring as much fresh food as we can, the lack of refrigeration on the trail and the weight of food limits what we can pack. As a result, we eat a lot of dried and freeze-dried foods. But we have sampled a LOT of different foods over the years and have picked some of our favorites to keep us moving on the trail!

Here’s a SAMPLE menu of some things you might cook or eat on the trail with us.

We focus on nutritious, caloric-dense foods on the trail, some of which is fresh and some dehydrated. We are also able to cater to special diets, from gluten-free, to vegetarian, to diabetic. If you see anything you absolutely would not eat or don’t like, please let us know in the Dietary Preferences section your trip paperwork!
